Kuvaus

In this episode, our conversation explores the meaning of Calling and vocation through the lived experience of Keith Nunes. Drawing from his personal journey and his ongoing engagement with justice-impacted individuals, Keith reflects on how people make sense of purpose, identity, and direction in life after encounters with the justice system. Through honest and thoughtful reflection, this conversation invites listeners to consider how ideas like calling and vocation can emerge in unexpected places and how listening to the stories of justice-impacted individuals can challenge the ways society defines purpose and possibility.

Technology as a Mirror

In this episode, we sit down with Weijia Cheng [https://www.aiandour.faith/] to explore vocation through the lens of a life shaped by both technology and theology. Reflecting on their journey from a tech background to theological study, Weijia shares how their sense of calling did not emerge from a single decisive moment, but through a pattern of recurring questions, tensions, and experiences that gradually redirected their path. Framing technology as a mirror rather than merely a tool, they invite us to consider how our work can reveal deeper questions about purpose, responsibility, and faith. Together, we reflect on how vocation unfolds over time and how attentive listening to the needs around us and the issues that persistently surface may be one of the clearest ways we discern our Calling.

Introducing Voice of Vocation

Episode 1 introduces Voice of Vocation —a podcast exploring “calling”, purpose, and the stories that shape how we live and work. In this opening conversation, we’re joined by Dr. Wolfteich Claire, a board member of the Creative Callings Project board and a faculty member at Boston University School of Theology (BUSTH), alongside three BUSTH students: Shelby Hall - teaching fellow for Vocation, Work, and Faith course; Luis De Prada - research fellow for Creative Callings project and liaison with hub congregations; Keith Nunes - MDiv student, student in Vocation, Work, and Faith course Jan 2025, now developing workshop on vocation for use in prison ministry. Together, we reflect on vocation, formation, and what it means to discern purpose during seasons of study, transition, and uncertainty.
