Her story has been untold to the public, until now. Lee Ford was an incredible woman, who would go on to become a scientist, professor, writer, guide dog breeder, lawyer, aide to the Governor, fierce advocate for equal rights, and more. She faced many discriminations during her life, including when she earned her law degree at age 55. Because this is a pilot and test episode, please be patient with me as your host who is brand new to podcasting. All the documents of Lee Ford’s life used in my research can be found at the Indiana Historical Society Archives, her archive catalog can be found here. [https://indianahistory.org/wp-content/uploads/lee-leola-ellen-ford-papers-1929-1985.pdf] Special thanks to the IHS Archives, my Digital and Public History professor Dr. Kelly at IU, and my amazing husband for his support and talent which provided the music for this episode.  About Me: Hi! I’m Isabel Robb, a History graduate student at Indiana University–Indianapolis with a deep love for women’s, 20th-century American, and ancient Egypt history. I got my start at Weber State University, where a project on women’s roles in vintage community cookbooks sparked my passion for women’s history. Outside the archives, I’m all about family time, my faith, cooking, travel, treadmill runs, and learning something new every day!
