There's some relief coming to businesses and visitors of Greektown. Beaubien from Lafayette to Macomb will reopen to traffic as construction on the Monroe Streetscape Project continues. WWJ's Taylor Dietz talked to Greektown Neighborhood Partnership executive director Ayesha Maxwell about the progress. (Photo credit: WWJ's Taylor Dietz)

Local girl puts down softball bat for fight against bone cancer

10-year-old Livi Miller of Oakland County will be playing in her last softball tournament this Saturday before beginning treatment for osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. The diagnosis came suddenly when her parents took her in for an apparent sports injury, but the X-ray confirmed their worst fears. Her father works for the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, her mother is a teacher at Our Lady of Lakes, and her 6-year-old brother Lincoln is too young to understand. The family has set up a GoFundMe page [https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-alivia-miller-and-family] as they face extended time off work plus expensive travel to her hospital appointments.
