Did you believe that struggling with your mental health made you a burden? That going through tough times meant you needed to isolate rather than lean on others? That voice in your head telling you to stop being so dramatic, or to stop feeling the way you do? There’s so much stigma around feeling down, feeling depressed, having mental health issues, and a lot of that leads you to believe you are a burden - especially to others I spent so much of my time struggling with mental health believing that, when that was so not the truth. It turns out the whole time you’re fighting yourself to just “be better” or to “stop feeling that”, that’s when you really needed compassion, from yourself and others

Episode 57: The Love Letter Collection

It’s such a transformative thing being grateful. I know people talk about gratitude journals, feeling grateful for the things you have and not dwelling on what you don’t, and man, they are right! I used to think being grateful was like a form of forced positivity. Like, I’m having a bad day, I don't need to be grateful! But the more I learned to love the little things around me, I realized that was what being grateful really was all about. It’s like water flowing to shore in the ocean - yes, there are waves that can crash down on you and knock you over, but also there is the sun reflecting off the water creating sparkles, there’s the heat beaming down that makes you want to dip your toes in the water, there’s calm parts of the water you can just soak in. It’s about the flow of things - yes you can have a bad day AND be grateful (something I didn’t think you could do) There’s just something about feeling good in your skin and how it’s a reflection of feeling good about what you have in your life, so hear more on this episode!
