When deciding on a topic for episode 6, it dawned on me that there is one system virtually entangled in all aspects of our lives that very few people know about. This system is global, with just a handful of countries not participating, yet many people are unaware of it's origins, it's goals and it's effects. That system is known as Central Banking or, as in the case here in the U.S., The Federal Reserve. In this episode we are going to talk about it's origins, how it creates money, and how that has an impact on us - the average citizen. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support [https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support]

In this episode, we discuss a famous thought experiment that forces you to make the most ethical choice. We also talk about how this applies to technology like autonomous vehicles. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support [https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support]

In episode 4, we talk about value. Specifically, the Paradox of Value - also known as the Diamond-Water Paradox. This paradox states that even though something like water is more useful, it is cheaper than something like diamonds which aren't very useful at all. So - what is value? What gives something it's value? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support [https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support]

In episode 3 we talk about an interesting phenomenon involving what we collectively remember. The Mandela Effect is what happens when a large group of people mis-remember specific facts or events. What are some of these events and why do they happen? How can science help us with this? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support [https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thoughtexperiments/support]
