Why the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Just Became the Most Important Race of the Season.

Silly season is in full swing now that McLaren has pushed all its chips to the center of the table and is likely to sign both Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist for the 2027 IndyCar season. This shakes up the entire field and opens up one of the best seats in the field to a number of drivers. Who's going to be driving the number 9 Chip Ganassi Racing PNC Bank car next year? Road America had it all. Daring overtakes, unusual mistakes, and rules interpretations that left us shaking our heads. But in the end it was yet another heartbreak for Marcus Armstrong who was cruising to victory, when his Honda engine let go, clearing the way for Christian Lundgaard to seal his second victory of the season by pulling away from second place finisher, David Malukas. It was a great day at America's National Park of Speed with the exception of a couple of full course cautions and pit closures that had us wondering if they had changed the rules again.
