Seven years ago this week, I had my first panic attack on a packed train to Waterloo. I thought I was having a heart attack. I thought I just needed a few days off and I'd be fine. I was wrong. In this episode, I'm going back to that moment and sharing everything I wish someone had told me about burnout recovery before my body made the decision for me. I talk about the red flags I ignored for years, the shame I carried for not being "strong enough," and the job, and the identity crisis that all fed into it. I also share the five stage burnout model that finally helped me understand what was happening to me, and a simple visualisation exercise that I wish I'd had back then to check in with myself before things fell apart.
