That's why Podimo -the “The Netflix of podcasts” according to the TechCrunch portal - teams up with the most relevant creators from Mexico to produce quality shows. The app, which is already thriving in Europe, promises to change the game of audio entertainment in the country.
In its quest to promote 100% Mexican talent and amplify local stories, its arrival comes with a large offer of content for all tastes: true crime, investigative journalism, humor, the supernatural and the inexplicable, relationships, among many others.
These are the titles that will be available on the platform starting this March 14 in Mexico and the United States.
Love Tour and Se Regalan Dudas
The hosts of one of the most popular podcasts in Mexico, Ashley Frangie and Lety Sahagún, make Podimo their home for the second time: besides the exclusive Podimo Love Tour, all episodes of Se Regalan Dudas will be available to watch and listen to two weeks before they are released on other platforms. In the words of Lety Sahagún: “One of the projects that makes us the proudest has been our Love Tour. Since many people couldn’t attend live, we decided to do it on Podimo, so they can access everything that was discussed on this tour we had in the US and Mexico.”
Denise Dresser, one of the most iconic voices in Mexican journalism, steps away from daily events and takes us on her first podcast journey from pre-Columbian Mexico to the 21st century, presenting those events that have shaped the country. It is a program full of humor, sarcasm, and irony.
“Sometimes what we do in the name of science is funny, sometimes it’s ridiculously stupid, and sometimes it’s terrifying like 'the planet almost explodes, dude'... but it’s fascinating to learn about all these aspects of when science goes wrong,” explains Badía about this never-before-seen adaptation of the #1 comedy podcast in Mexico, the legendary trio of José Antonio Badía, Eduardo Espinosa and Mario Lopez Capistrán takes us through the most peculiar scientific stories in history, which due to their infamy will be explored in this new podcast, Legendary Experiments exclusive to Podimo.
One of the most beloved couples in the Mexican entertainment industry: Arath de la Torre and Susy Lu invite us to be their third wheel in Take Me Wherever You Want, where for the first time in their 17 years of marriage, they share through 12 episodes the most crucial moments of their relationship and what it means to be together amidst laughter, tears, sex, parenting, and much more. “This is our story of love and heartbreak,” says Susy Lu. “I think people... hopefully, they can identify,” adds Arath de la Torre.
Does anal sex cause hemorrhoids? Does abortion make you infertile? Dr. Laura Salazar, a surgeon and TikToker with more than three million followers, will answer all the questions you've always wanted to ask but never dared to. As she herself explains: “In this new series, people will realize that they don’t know their vagina at all. We are going to explore myths that many people believe about sexuality, orgasms, fetishes, diseases, pleasure, contraceptives, pornography, and much more.”
Paco Stanley: bullying, scandals, and organized crime
Journalistic investigation is present in the hands of Estefanía Veloz, lawyer, journalist, and feminist activist, in this documentary that explores one of the murders that most shocked the Mexican public in the 90s: The murder of television host Paco Stanley.
In addition to these exclusive titles that are already available on the Podimo app, this month a dozen audio productions will premiere that showcase the quality and diversity of Mexican creators. Podimo, life is better when you listen.
