This week on 100% Maybe, we explore one of Jesus’ most challenging and freeing teachings in Matthew 6:19–34. As Jesus asks, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” He walks us through a deeper reflection on the human heart  - what we treasure, how we see the world, and ultimately who or what we trust. In this conversation, we discuss the tension between wanting control over our own lives while also being invited to trust a faithful Father. Jesus’ words are not an invitation to ignore reality or stop being responsible, but a call to freedom from anxious striving and the burden of trying to be our own lord. This passage confronts us, but it also offers healing: when we take Jesus at His word, we may discover the freedom we were created for.

As we unpack the story, we talk about spiritual forgetfulness, the importance of remembering God’s faithfulness, and how Jesus’ compassion extends beyond the borders of Israel to the outsiders and Gentiles as well. This passage reminds us that the Kingdom of God is bigger, wider, and more welcoming than people expected, and that reminders of God’s provision in our everyday lives can reorient us to the greater story He’s telling. Paul reminds us that following Jesus isn’t about checking out of life, but stepping fully into it,  playing our part in the community of faith and recognizing that our work is about more than just making a living. It’s about contributing to what God is doing in the world. We come back to the foundation of faith, hope, and love; anchors that form our everyday lives and keep us steady when things feel uncertain. And in the midst of big questions about the future, we’re reminded that the end isn’t meant to bring confusion, but confidence. The Lord is faithful, and He will bring all things to completion in His timing.  So the question isn’t just what we believe, it's how we live in light of it.
