Madre Vaca - composition through improvisation and the inspiration of words

Madre Vaca [https://www.madrevaca.org/] is the brainchild of Benjamin Shorstein, a Florida-based composer who works with a long-standing collective of collaborators to create something between prog rock, jazz and classical compositions. The latest Madre Vaca release is the 69 minute “Tunnel to the Moon”, inspired by and based on poems written by Charlie Shuck almost 2 decades ago. Pastel Blank [https://www.pastelblank.com/] is the brainchild of Angus Watt and features a revolving door of members from the Vancouver area in which he is based. The debut album “Unmade In Minutes” was released on April 24th and dips its musical toes into pop, funk, disco and way more, somewhere it says this is art rock, I guess that works too! It certainly doesn’t sound like a debut album and I’m loving it.
