Descripción

Helen Walsh has achieved so much over the last few decades but takes it all in her stride. She appears unphased by having worked as a personal trainer to U2 or founding a successful social enterprise #passiton, which has gone from strength to strength over the last 25 years. Helen loves people, is a great listener and has huge empathy. She realised working as a personal trainer that so much of physical fitness was connected to the mind. After going back to train as a counsellor, she then pursued coaching. Helen has such a great attitude and a great way of looking at even the most traumatic of events. You can find out about all of Helen's different initiatives at www.helenwalsh.ie or https://www.instagram.com/helenwalshcoaching/. You can learn more about my own coaching at www.acuppacoaching.ie

Episode 12 with Emer McPolin, User Experience Design Lead at the IMF

In this episode, I speak to Emer McPolin about her varied career in design, user experience, creative leadership and her experience in many different places including Ireland, Israel, Japan, London & now Virginia. We discuss her attitude to change and how she loves and embraces it in both her personal and professional life. We could all learn a lot from Emer's view on change and she gives some great advice at the end from anyone scared to take the next step. We also delve into her path to parenthood; the joy and the challenges she faces as a working mother, "superwoman" syndrome, "the good enough mother" and trying to do it all. Episode 11 with Dr. Lorraine(Lollie)Mancey from UCD Innovation Academy

In this episode, I speak to multi-tasker extraordinaire, Dr. Lorraine(Lollie)Mancey! A lecturer & programme director in the innovation academy, an entrepreneur with multiple businesses, a celebrant, a podcaster, a mum and so much more! After getting a scholarship to a private school at an early age and completing her degree and masters in anthropology, Lollie spent 10 years travelling across 30 different countries. Everything changed at 37, when simultaneously she started her PhD and became pregnant with her daughter. We talk about her “ikigai” which is all about contribution fuelled by a strong sense of justice and she is passionate about equity in education. A late-stage entrepreneur, she has found herself at home in the innovation academy, helping other budding entrepreneurs and combining all of her skills and talents. Lollie is very comfortable speaking about death due to her work as funeral celebrant and owner of the Irish Institute of Celebrants. We discuss changes in the "death industry" include a rise in women celebrants and the potential impact of AI in the future! We also talk about curiosity, compassion, awe and gratitude as well as the "anti-bucket list" and the 5 regrets of the dying. Finally, Lollie tells us how her divorce became the dark gift and how she has learnt the art of self-love over the last few years and is happier than ever now. This is a rich and deep conversation and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
