Descripción

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first episode of A Very Distinctive Podcast, a Leverage recap/review podcast, with your hosts Alexis (who is new to Leverage) & Madi (who has seen every episode a minimum of six times)! In this first episode, we discuss the first two episodes of Leverage: the pilot "The Nigerian Job", and "The Homecoming Job". Please enjoy the dulcet tones of our discussions about character dynamics, liberal use of flashbacks, and Alexis's growing list of safety concerns. Another thing we're doing with this podcast, besides just talking about a really excellent TV show that's been off the air since 2012, is to promote a charity each episode related to one of the Leverage episodes we're reviewing. Since Leverage is all about helping people, we'd like to encourage some people-helping as well. In our first episode, we talk briefly about The Wounded Warrior Project, a multi-program charity for injured and disabled American veterans who have served since 9/11. Their programs include mental health and physical rehabilitation, career placement, and a whole host of support for American vets. If you'd like to help disabled veterans in the spirit of "The Homecoming Job", then please consider supporting The Wounded Warrior Project. You can donate & find more info about the Wounded Warrior Project here: https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ Madi can be found on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/runawayballista Alexis can be found on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/alexiorsays

Episode 02: The Two-Horse Job

In this episode, Alexis and I discuss Episode 3 of Leverage, "The Two Horse Job", wherein Alexis uses her vast horse knowledge to expound on the many oddities and falsehoods of horses in Leverage. Don't be fooled by the intro to this episode - we talked about horse business for almost our entire runtime so, uh, Episode 4 will be covered next time! The charities for this episode are The Retired Racehorse Project and The Thoroughbred Charities of America, both of which are organizations that help find homes for retired racehorses. Racehorses are trained, raced, and retired at a very early age, and even though they are no longer sound enough to race after a few years, they still make excellent riding companions and can even go on to compete in other sports. So if you'd like to help a retired racehorse find a home after its career is over, please consider donating to one of these organizations!
