A custom house mix developed for the City of Aurora's 2024 festival of lights / LumenAura. Accompanied by a live dance performance by the Soleunique Dance Company. Purposeful track selection for a two-hour, automated light show.  If you're in the area, the event will be LIVE on Sunday, October 20 between 6:00 and 8:00pm in Downtown Aurora, IL. Hey peeps! For many many years, I've always felt that music was speaking to me.The things we go through in our day to day life is expressed in music - whatever the style. For me... house music has always been one of the genres that pushes itself into my brain and says "listen, damnit, I'm trying to tell you something". I'm talking about the  kind of house music that has real melodies, and most importantly, real words and song that tells a story about a time in someone's or many peoples lives.  For a long time now, I've been wanting to put together a mix of music that makes people feel happy to be alive, realize the things that are good, bad, and in between... the things that make you human. So I bring to you: The Inside (winter '09) Feels good to be alive kinda soul house music.  Every word - every beat and every soulful glow has a meaning. Listen carefully and relate. The beats n blends are simple (purposefully - no eq's or effects), so that we can focus on the words being spoken. This particular mix was inspired by a friend of mine who's been going through some rough times. Not only did I want this to cheer him up and make him feel less alone, but to spread the same joy and love to his students in hopes that he... and everyone else who listens, will have just that much better of a day.
