2004!!!! the year of devils (facebook) and angels (spider-man 2 soundtrack). here we look back on the year that was apparently 20 years ago. we meant to post this yesterday when it was still 2024.

#8 - Deep Dive: Evanescence - Fallen

today we do our small part to bring awareness to a cause that is deeply important to me: Amy Lee is a cultural icon. the album Fallen by the only band to ever come from Arkansas (Evanescence) was released in 2003. I’m not good at math but that was a least a few years ago, and I think we owe it to ourselves to reevaluate the piece of art that raised questions like - do we like this rap rock thing? is this a christian band? should I dye my hair black and pierce my eyebrow? how CAN you see into my eyes like open doors? and more!!!!

#7 - The Rolling Stones

Have any of the children of any of the rolling stones ever sang the song “papa was a rolling stone”? Can you imagine little Mick Keith Jr. rolling up to the 3rd grade talent show with his 80 year old father in the audience and earnestly performing that song… really makes you think.  I’m going to be honest with you, this episode was recorded in a different calendar year and I fear what may have been said. To set the scene, the newest album had been out for a few months and just trust me that it was kind of relevant to be talking about

oh me oh my they’ve done it again! the list lords at rolling stone have brought us the ccc - cool controversial content! if you’re a big time metal head, this is not for you because we aren’t and honestly I don’t really want to fight with the metal community right now. I feel like y’all have enough to work out amongst yourselves. in this episode we tackle the big questions: is avril lavigne metal? why are metallica songs so long? does anyone actually like m*tley cr*e? if you answered Y/it’s for god to handle/N, tune in.

today we’re talking about the best part of movies - the parts that are songs. sometimes the songs aren’t even actually in the movies. this episode is roughly the same amount of time as a movie that could have been 30 minutes shorter, so get yourself some popcorn, turn down the lights, and give yourself a real theatre experience
