Science fiction visuality
itunes pic [https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/5a/0f/d9/artblab-london/1400x1400_14270101.jpg] The worlds, landscapes, societies and fictive technologies of science fiction offer an immensely fertile way of representing and exploring what is real. By making and reading visual art science fictionally, we can embrace and engage with the openings up of meaning and sensation that arise from Science Fiction, whilst avoiding sliding into the clichés of 'sci-fi'.
Marta Grabowska - "Independent curating"
itunes pic [https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/5a/0f/d9/artblab-london/1400x1400_14255659.jpg] Curating is such a fashionable word. I will discuss my journey from photography graduate to an independent curator. I will focus on an exhibition I curated last year and make it a case study to my method of curating involving ideas of slow art and sharing art love with people who aren’t already familiar with the beauty of it.
Serena Braida - "ugly : beautiful"
itunes pic [https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/5a/0f/d9/artblab-london/1400x1400_14233720.jpg] The idea of the beautiful voice, the good voice, has been instilled in me from a very young age, with choral singing. As far as I can remember, voices were either ugly or beautiful. But how do those two things operate in relation to what I'm really interested in: expressivity, making good work, liveness? This is the story of how the embodied practice has changed the way I think about voice now.
Pissing in Duchamp's "Fountain"
itunes pic [https://assets.podomatic.net/ts/5a/0f/d9/artblab-london/1400x1400_14232257.jpg] The talk is a satirical intervention in the critical consensus surrounding that icon of modern art, Marcel Duchamp’s "Fountain". It engages with the alternative tradition of artists who have attempted to urinate in the urinal, arguing against their implicit interpretations of the readymade.
