Jonah Brazeau [https://www.instagram.com/jonahbrazeau/?hl=en] is a Montreal-based champion of small musicians at Secret City Records [https://www.secretcityrecords.com/]. But more than that, he’s a pillar of authenticity in a world where it can seem like it’s begging for the opposite of that. In this episode, we get really excited because we met out of the pure audacity of me inviting a stranger from the Internet to sleep on my couch (he got upgraded to bed when my roommate/best friend and I decided to cuddle up instead and let him have mine). It’s hard to believe that someone as sweet and kind as Jonah can not only “hack it,” in the industry, but still lets it bring so much joy to his being. If you need someone to believe in you, Jonah is your guy. This has to be the most positive, encouraging, calming, sweetest as pie episode that we’ve done yet. Love you, Jonah! In our final episode for the “season,” we chat with Connor Pritchard [https://substack.com/profile/262325965-connor-pritchard] , co-creator of Workaholics, writer, and general all around very cool guy. We discuss Connor's journey into writing, the evolution of comedy and drama in Hollywood, the importance of collaboration in writers' rooms, and the challenges of monetizing creative projects in the current landscape. Connor shares insights on authenticity in storytelling and the necessity of having an internal champion to succeed in the industry. We get into creativity, indie everything making, and the evolving landscape of storytelling. Ever feel like you have to wear every single hat as a creative in 2025? Yeah, that’s not slowing down. I had such a good time chatting with Connor and am happy to “end the season” on this note. A lot of great takeaways from people across all disciplines in this one. I even gave it a re-listen. We’ll be back in the fall! Get full access to cabbage house at cabbagehouse.substack.com/subscribe [https://cabbagehouse.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4]

Caroline in the Garden [https://carolineinthegarden.com/] invites us to learn more about her journey around being a lawyer, a mother, and finally accepting her path as an artist. Speaking with her made me feel like maybe you can have it all. So often we feel forced into one thing, when we’re all so many things. In this episode, we go over the difficulties and importance of self-identifying as an artist, and how the timing is always right. If you weren’t convinced that age is just a number, you will be now. Caroline is on Substack [https://substack.com/@carolineinthegarden], that’s where we met! Listen to her music on repeat here [https://carolineinthegarden.bandcamp.com/].
