“Believe to see the Glory of God”~ Dr Reg Morais It can be very challenging for a parent to believe they will see God move over their child’s life when day in and day out they witness the debilitating effects of Autism. Sadly, this creates room for fear. So not only is the child fearful, but the parent is too, fretting for their child’s future. But Jesus reminds us “Do not fear; only believe, and she (they) will be well” (Luke 8:50). “GOD is greater than our complexities”~ Dr Reg Morais When I was a young boy in kindergarten, my teacher told my mother I was not ready to start primary one. In the school system in Singapore back in my day, if you were retained more than three times, it would mean you would have to drop out of the schooling system altogether. Sadly, upon hearing these words from my teacher, and knowing the difficulties I faced with the Autism, Aspergers, and OCD, my parents reluctantly kept me back in kindergarten for a second time. “Imitate Christ & your child will imitate you”~ Dr Reg Morais I can recall the time when my parents accepted God into their hearts and lives. I was just a young boy, not yet been healed of the spectrum disorders that plagued me. Nevertheless, I was still able to see the transformation that was taking place in my parents’ lives. As their desire grew to know more about God, so did their faith. Although I struggled on many levels, I was still able to see the many miracles that were happening in their lives. So, what did I do?
