Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has said she does not mock or judge women involved in transactional relationships, popularly known as “runs,” noting that many are driven into such lifestyles by harsh economic realities.  The actress made the remarks during a recent episode of ‘The Morayo Show’ hosted by Morayo Afolabi-Brown, where she spoke about survival struggles, societal pressure and self-worth among young women. Bello explained that while she empathises with women who engage in transactional relationships to survive, she believes they should not remain in that lifestyle permanently.

Ghana Repatriate 300 Citizens After Xenophobic Incidents In South Africa

Ghana has announced it will evacuate 300 of its citizens from South Africa, following a spate of xenophobic incidents and protests against immigration across the country in recent weeks.  Ghana's Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said on Tuesday that President John Dramani Mahama had approved the operation. The decision comes after a series of anti-immigration protests in South Africa, as well as claims of assaults and intimidation against other African nationals across the country in recent weeks. Nigeria and Ghana have both voiced concern over the situation. The South African government, however, has rejected all claims of xenophobia.

EFCC Arraigns Blessing CEO Over Alleged N36m Rent Scam in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned social media influencer and self-styled relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, before the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos. She was arraigned before Justice Deinde Dipeolu on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining N36 million by false pretence and stealing. According to the EFCC, the alleged offences involve the sum of N36,000,000, said to have been fraudulently obtained from one Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the guise of leasing a six-bedroom detached duplex in Lekki, Lagos. At the commencement of proceedings, defence counsel, P.I. Nwafor, informed the court that his client had made a partial refund of N24 million to the nominal complainant.
