Entering the 2018 season, Coach Jordano was listed among the top 25 winningest active coaches in NCAA DI baseball. In his twenty-one years leading the Panthers, Jordano left as the all-time winningest coach in Pitt Baseball history, as well as, recording more wins (588) than any coach, in any sport, in Pitt Athletic history. Jordano’s teams rewrote the Panther record book; sent over 70 players into professional baseball and led Pitt’s transition into the powerful Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Prior to Pitt, Jordano was the head coach at Mercyhurst College in his hometown of Erie, PA. He guided the Lakers for ten seasons and left as the winningest coach (283 wins) in Mercyhurst College history. Coach Jordano has earned six Coach of the Year awards in his career. Jordano has been inducted into the Mercyhurst College Hall of Fame, the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (Erie Chapter) and the Italian/American Sports Hall of Fame (Pittsburgh Chapter).
