It’s been three years since we last checked in on Lexington native Chris Shaw, and he’s back this week as he prepares to head out to Arizona for spring training with the Chicago White Sox. Chris talks about his journeys through injury rehab and professional baseball, how the recent changes to the Minor Leagues impacted his golf game, and his new walk-up song. Chris also heaps praise on fellow BC graduate and soon-to-be-Major-Leaguer Sal Frelick, reflects on the lack of female coaches in professional sports, and comments on the allure of the Savannah Bananas. On this episode of Bedford Tavern we are joined by Tali Rojem, Director of Clinical Innovations at The Edinburg Center in Bedford. Tali talks about the challenges facing providers, families, and agencies in the midst of the current mental health crisis, and some of the innovative programs and services she helps manage at The Edinburg Center to tackle them. Dave also talks about the expansion of his practice into additional space focused specifically on mental health and wellness, and Dan asks if the answer to some of these challenges is rooted in financial resources, staff shortages, or state intervention.
