This is the first episode of the year! With all of this fresh new energy about vision boards, goals, affirmations, and resolutions, I wanted to point something out. I hear a lot of women complain about dating and wanting to be married, I jokingly join in. But I notice a lot of these women have some things in common. So allow me to hold this mirror up real quick as we do a vibe check.

You Can Have A Family and Pursue Your Dreams

This episode is so special, it is in honor of Mother's Day! So many people have families, and often feel they need to give up because they have so many responsibilities. Well, I had the chance to sit with mom, wife, actress, entrepreneur, and veteran, Ruby Lee Dove, and she says giving up is not an option. Although things are not easy, they are not impossible for the mother of two. She sites planning as a means to get a lot done. Why You Think You All That?

Who told me I was good enough to follow my dreams? Who said I could try to be on TV? Who do I think I am being confident when I am feeling good? How do I know that I can do whatever I want in this life? What makes you think people are going to even like you or what you do? What makes you so special? Sound familiar??? I'm going to be transparent, I go through my bouts with fear, worry, stress, self-doubt, and depression like the best of us. I need to be reminded that I'm good enough, and most times, those confidence pep-talks come from me through staring in the mirror, through prayer, meditation, in the silent moments when I'm chillin or taking a drive. Then there are moments when I have to get checked by someone else that see's my value when I don't, even if it comes in the form of criticism or haterade.
