Descripción

Before joining the Royal Marines, Lee Drinkwater endured devastating personal loss — his son, his brother and his nana all passed away within a short period of time. The grief and confusion left him without identity, direction or purpose. For four years he asked himself one question every night — “Have you been your best today” — and for four years the answer was no. He no longer recognised who he was. Joining the Royal Marines Commandos changed everything. The Corps gave him identity, standards and belonging. Rising to Warrant Officer, Lee learned that leadership is not about authority but about compassion, empathy and strength under pressure. Today, Lee is the founder of Solace International, working with leaders and organisations worldwide to build resilience and thrive through adversity. His work is built around the R.E.A.L.® Protocol — Resilience, Emotional Intelligence, Agility and Leadership. This is a raw, emotional and deeply human conversation about loss, identity, leadership and the power of turning grief into purpose. 🌐 www.warriorwellnessmovement.com [http://www.warriorwellnessmovement.com] Beyond the Battlefield is available on all major podcast platforms. #LeeDrinkwater #BeyondTheBattlefield #Leadership #RoyalMarines #Resilience #Grief #SolaceInternational #REALProtocol #WarriorWellnessMovement

Complex PTSD, Trauma, Chronic Fatigue and the Journey to Healing - Laura Horn

Episode 24 marks the final episode of the year and the 12 month anniversary of Beyond the Battlefield. In this deeply honest conversation, Laura Horn shares her journey through trauma, survival and transformation. After experiencing trauma earlier in life, Laura travelled the world in search of identity and meaning. While travelling in South America, she was held at gunpoint and feared for her life. She returned home carrying the psychological weight of those experiences, which later developed into complex PTSD. Alongside the emotional trauma, Laura’s physical health collapsed. She contracted multiple foreign viruses, leaving her body exhausted and eventually leading to chronic fatigue syndrome. Everyday life became a struggle as her nervous system remained locked in survival mode. Laura speaks openly about the long road of therapy, self discovery and healing that followed. Over time, she rebuilt her health, reclaimed her identity and found a way forward. Today, she works as a therapist, supporting others through trauma, nervous system regulation and meaningful change, guided by lived experience. This episode is reflective, compassionate and deeply human. It is a powerful reminder that healing is possible, even after prolonged trauma and physical collapse. 🌐 www.warriorwellnessmovement.com [http://www.warriorwellnessmovement.com] Beyond the Battlefield is available on all major podcast platforms. #LauraHorn #BeyondTheBattlefield #ComplexPTSD #TraumaRecovery #ChronicFatigue #HealingJourney #MentalHealth #Resilience #WarriorWellnessMovement

Dits: The Good, The Bad and The Unrepeatable | Damian “Obiwan” Todd

In Episode 23 of Beyond the Battlefield, former Royal Marines Commando Damian “Obiwan” Todd delivers one of the most entertaining and profound conversations of the series. Obi is the author of Dits – The Good, The Bad and The Unrepeatable, a memoir packed with humour, chaos, vulnerability and hard earned lessons from a life lived at full pace. He shares his journey across the United States where he covered 3530 miles in 63 days, raising money for the Royal Marines Charity, Help for Heroes and the Semper Fi Fund. After snapping his Achilles early into the challenge, he completed the entire distance on a hand bike, effectively doing a marathon every day. He also talks about his 24 hour BJJ roll in 34 degree heat where he grappled with 230 opponents, the friendships and madness of military life and the deeper reflections that came with pushing himself to the edge. Beyond the world records and extreme challenges, Obi opens up about mental health, veteran suicide and the fear of death. His honesty brings a powerful depth to this fast paced and unforgettable episode. 🌐 www.warriorwellnessmovement.com [http://www.warriorwellnessmovement.com] Beyond the Battlefield is available on all major podcast platforms.  #DamianTodd #ObiTodd #DitsBook #RoyalMarines #VeteranStories #MentalHealth #Endurance #BeyondTheBattlefield #WarriorWellnessMovement
