Welcome to the Renaissance! The beginning of life started with the Black Woman. I sat down with my mom, Melissa Fontenette-Mitchell, to ask her where and how she became the woman she is today! See you soon, peace! ***Corrections: Heath Gallery and Melissa Fontenette-Mitchell graduated from Texas Southern University***

Episode #1: The Most Powerful Expression is Love!

Hey Y'all, and welcome back to the Renaissance! I hope you are doing well! I believe that the most potent expression and highest form of vibration is love. For me, John 3:16 isn't just a verse; it shows how God unconditionally loves each of us. A way of affection, that no one on this Earth could match, is God's love for us. It also teaches me to love others not just when it's comfortable but even when it can be difficult, especially when someone wrongs or hurts you in any emotional, physical, or mental way. On the other hand, it is one of the most beautiful emotions that God has given us. Not to be blinded by it but to meet those in your life who genuinely love you for you, flaws, weirdness, and all, truly being accepted. What would the world look like if we all loved each other? Black love is one of the most beautiful, sexist, powerful things to see in this world. Why would the US government try so hard to break the Black family by mass incarceration of black men in the 80s or Black women still constantly dying in US hospitals WHILE giving birth? Note, the US in 2025 still has the highest Maternal Mortality rate among first world countries in the world. I digress. When you find true love, hold onto it and fight for it. Love isn't about the ego or self, it is about the other person. I was blessed to have met a beautiful woman by the name of Tyeschea West in Austin, Texas. We met at her art show that she was collaborating on with my mom. Almost a year ago, to the day, Tyeschea and I fell in love. The first night I saw her, I saw her beauty, light, and creative mind on display. On our second night of meeting, we walked on South Congress, got Amy's Ice Cream, and talked for the whole night. Fast forward, we have cried together, talked daily, fasted with each other, prayed for each other and others, and loved and grew with each other. For my brothas and sistas out there, Black love in Austin is real. Peace, love, and light! Catch Y'all on the next one!
