Breyking Through the BS
In this episode, we sit down with registered dietitian Alex Oskian to talk about the parts of her story that shaped her the most. Alex opens up about growing up during her mom's declining health and eventual death, and how she coped by controlling the one thing she thought she could control: food. What started as restriction became an eating disorder that followed her through high school and college. At her lowest, she was under a hundred pounds at five foot nine. She'll talk about the CrossFit coach who planted a seed about nourishment and strength, the journey toward recovery, and the hardest part: the demon that never fully leaves. This isn't a recovery success story wrapped up in a bow. It's about learning to live alongside what we've been through, understanding that control is an illusion, and recognizing that we're not alone in our struggles. If you've dealt with disordered eating, trauma, or using control as a coping mechanism, this conversation is for you.
