Bright: The Microcast
In episode one, we get to talk to Amanda Nkeramihigo about the importance of rest, and how being a Black woman gives us a certain strength and perseverance that helps us in creating and running our own businesses. Amanda (she/they/we) is a Master's student in the Historical, Theoretical and Critical studies of Psychology at York University. She is the co-founder of the Black Students Mentorship Program (est. 2021), a research assistant with Psychology's Feminist Voices ( with Dr. Rutherford) and Securing Black Futures (with Dr. Carl James). She is working on a theoretical and multidisciplinary MA thesis : An exploration of Afrofuturism as a psychological framework for a theory of Black subjectivities (and resistance).
