Once aware of noise’s ability to dull, disrupt, distract, and debilitate, we become more intentional about our environment. Like active noise reduction, this intentionality may require us to introduce other sound sources to counteract the noise. Kent L. Gee, recipient of BYU’s most prestigious faculty honor—the Karl G.
