The Canaries invite Mike's friend Marcus to grapple with one of their ongoing debates on Mike's favorite concept, "the spirit of play." While Mike sees playfulness as a curative for many of societies ills, Marcus argues the dangers of promoting it in a culture that is increasingly narcissistic and clearly declining into mindless hedonism. In true form, Rob comes to the rescue with a viable heuristic that reconciles play with responsibility. But, Marcus holds the line, and thus prolongs this debate into the most playful episode ever.
