Descripción

I'm starting a new segment on my podcast, Cans, Copy & Mic.  It's called, "Cans on the Street", a take off of the broadcasters " Man" on the Street interviews. I'll be visiting exciting and maybe bizarre venues and events, walking through the crowds and grabbing short interviews of the people there. People say the darnedest things, and that's what I'm looking for. Did you know that some people spearfish in Pennsylvania? Some stick their hands down holes in the Susquehanna River so that massive catfish will gobble up their arms? It happens! You'll hear all about it in Episode 9!

T&D Big Cats of the World, a jungle in Pennsylvania!

T&D Big Cats of the World is nestled in central Pennsylvania in a little town called, Penn's Creek. There are over 300 animal "guests" living there from lions and tigers and bears, (oh my!), to birds, monkeys and foxes.  All of the animals have been donated or rescued and now live comfortably in scenic enclosures. Jennifer Mattive is one of the managers of the park and a graduate of Penn State in, Wildlife and Fisheries Science.  There isn't any of the drama you might have seen in the CATV show, "Tiger King", to be sure, but it is an exciting park to tour.  T&D has a big mission to satisfy every day feeding the animals and maintaining the infrastructure of the park.  Farmers pitch in by donating sick of dead animals for feeding the big carnivores, and the park is staffed by a number of volunteers. Visit with Cans, Copy and Mic as we travel through this wildlife habitat and take in the sights!

Uhrings Audiology, Crucial info to save your hearing!

Today, I visit with Elise Uhring, Doctor of Audiology, and owner of Uhring’s Hearing & Balance.  She specializes in high tech hearing aids, Treatment for tinnitus, and something called,  “Auditory Processing Disorder Diagnosis and Treatment.” Or APD.  The condition is often misdiagnosed  as, Attention Deficit Disorder. A mistake that might keep children  from the critical help Uhring’s can offer. Sit in as Elise and I discuss Auditory Processing Disorder, the space-aged technology advancements with hearing aids, (she has some that will communicate with your smart phone), and we learn about her special skill assessing and treating all hearing and balance disorders.  You’ll learn something from Elise whether you have a hearing problem yourself, or live with a person that does.
