Violet shares her recovery from drugs and alcohol. I share my journey with an eating disorder. It was very interesting to explore the similarities and the deeper root beneath both: the mind’s urge to escape the Now. Addiction isn’t always obvious. Sometimes it’s substances. Sometimes it’s control. Sometimes it’s distraction. But at its core, it’s the same wound - the same reaching. I truly believe everyone will see themselves in some part of it. And when we tune into what our bodies are trying to tell us, we can work with it, rather than against it, to truly heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
