Descripción

In this musically rich disputatio, Dr. David Erb leads us through the Scriptures to recover a largely forgotten weapon of spiritual warfare: song. From the shores of the Red Sea to the reign of Jehoshaphat… From Deborah’s victory hymn to the Psalms of David… From Psalm 46 to Psalm 149 and beyond… God’s people have always sung in the face of war. Not sentimental choruses. Not background music. But bold, historical, theological, Spirit-wielding battle songs. At NSA, musical excellence is not performance, it is preparation. May we not be mere sightseers or hearers, but sight-singers—armed with the Word of Christ, ready for joy, sorrow, worship, and battle. “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand.” Psalm 149   Learn more about New Saint Andrews College at https://nsa.edu [https://nsa.edu] To learn more about the NSA Conservatory of Music, visit https://music.nsa.edu [https://music.nsa.edu]   Dr. David R. episode 2026 Commencement Address | Pr. Brooks Potteiger artwork

2026 Commencement Address | Pr. Brooks Potteiger

Pastor Brooks Potteiger delivered this year's commencement address. The grandson of African missionaries, Pastor Potteiger has faithfully served Christ’s Church from Florida to California, and now in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. He is set to become the first pastor of Christ Church in Washington D.C. in the near future. He is an ordained minister in the CREC and holds Master’s degrees in Christian Apologetics and in Pastoral Care and Counseling. He is a man of wide-ranging interests; enjoying live-edge woodworking, photography, the poetry of George Herbert, the sturdy theology of the Puritans, the creative destruction of a chainsaw, and the deep, resounding laughter that so often accompanies G.K. Chesterton among friends. Demons Make Good Kindling: A Christian Response to AI | Aaron Youngren

What should Christians make of artificial intelligence?   In this disputatio, Aaron Youngren challenges the dominant cultural narrative surrounding AI, one shaped more by science fiction, materialist assumptions, and fear than by biblical truth. Through an allegory of a blacksmith and a “green god” in the mountains, Youngren reframes the conversation: instead of trembling before new technology, Christians are called to approach it with clarity, courage, and confidence in Christ’s lordship. The Problem of Compulsory Feminism | Dr. Scott Yenor | New Saint Andrews College

New Saint Andrews College was pleased to welcome Dr. Scott Yenor as a guest speaker at Disputatio to address faculty and students. Scott Yenor, Ph.D. is the Director of the Kenneth B. Simon Center for American Studies at the Heritage Foundation, a Washington Fellow at The Claremont Institute’s Center for the American Way of Life, and a professor of political science at Boise State University. In this lecture, Scott Yenor argues that modern America lives under a regime he calls “compulsory feminism”: a legal and cultural order that reshapes how we rank virtue, honor, and responsibility between the sexes. Yenor contends that while virtue itself is not sexed, virtues and vices “land differently” in men and women, and that denying this reality has contributed to family decline, delayed marriage, and demographic collapse.
