In this episode of Coach Cut’s Corner, Christian Douglass joins us to break down his journey from Whetstone, Ohio, to becoming a key arm for the Stars. At 6’4, Douglass has logged 42 innings across 21 appearances, putting together a 7-0 record with 30 strikeouts to just 8 walks. Those numbers stand out, but they are the result of growth that did not happen overnight. This conversation starts with his early years. We get into his childhood, the people who influenced him, and the role other sports played in shaping him as an athlete. He shares what those early experiences taught him and how they still show up in his work today. We break down his development inside the program. How routine, accountability, and daily standards have shaped his performance. How tracking his work and understanding his numbers has changed how he prepares and competes. This episode is about earning results. It is about discipline, consistency, and learning how to handle the moments that define you. If you are a player, coach, or parent trying to understand what real development looks like, this one matters to you. ------------------------- Website: [https://lccstars.com/sports/bsb/index]LCC Stars Baseball [https://lccstars.com/sports/bsb/index] Website: [https://www.lcc.edu/foundation/givenow/baseball.html]Baseball Advancement Fund (Donations) [https://www.lcc.edu/foundation/givenow/baseball.html] Website: [https://www.coachcutter.com/]Coach Cutter [https://www.coachcutter.com/] Website: [https://rdkate.com/]RD Kate [https://rdkate.com/] Related Podcast: [https://www.lcc.edu/connect/shows/stars-on-sports.html]Stars on Sports [https://www.lcc.edu/connect/shows/stars-on-sports.html]

Mind the Gap

In this episode of Coach Cut’s Corner, Coach Radek joins us to break down exactly where we are at this point in the season and the reality of sitting at 17–16. It is not where we expect to be, but it is exactly where we have earned to be. This conversation centers around the gap. The space between the work you put in and the results you expect to see. We talk about how development is not instant. It is uneven, slow, and often invisible in the moment. Players expect to see results right away, but the game doesn't work that way. There is always a delay, and that delay is where most people lose belief. We dive into how experience plays a major role in closing that gap. You cannot skip reps. You cannot shortcut failure. The more experienced team handles pressure, controls moments, and finds ways to win the margins. We also address the role of luck. It exists. Balls fall in. Balls do not fall in. Close games swing both ways. You cannot rely on it, but you'd better understand that it is part of the game. Over time, experienced teams put themselves in a position to benefit from it. This episode is real. It is honest. It is about staying in the process when there is no immediate reward. If you are a player, coach, or parent trying to understand development, pressure, and what it actually takes to improve, this one matters to you. ------------------------- Website: [https://lccstars.com/sports/bsb/index]LCC Stars Baseball [https://lccstars.com/sports/bsb/index] Website: [https://www.lcc.edu/foundation/givenow/baseball.html]Baseball Advancement Fund (Donations) [https://www.lcc.edu/foundation/givenow/baseball.html] Website: [https://www.coachcutter.com/]Coach Cutter [https://www.coachcutter.com/] Website: [https://rdkate.com/]RD Kate [https://rdkate.com/] Related Podcast: [https://www.lcc.edu/connect/shows/stars-on-sports.html]Stars on Sports [https://www.lcc.edu/connect/shows/stars-on-sports.html]
