S1E1 - Is this podcast part of the conspiracy?

This first episode of Conspiracy Theories Debunked is going to be kind of a preemptive strike against the conspiracy theorists. You see, if you study conspiracy theories, you'll see a pattern. A pattern in the way conspiracy theorists deal with critics. A pattern that, once you see it, may help you identify conspiracy theories in the future. But if you are listening to this show, you've probably already seen it. You've probably even been a victim of it. It's a sort of ad hominem attack. When a conspiracy theorist encounters a critic, they don't argue with facts. Because they don’t have any facts. Instead they will immediately attack the critic. This is pretty common in arguments. But there is something special about the way the conspiracy theorist will do it. At some point conspiracy theorists will inevitably claim that their critics can't be trusted because they are an agent of the conspiracy. This recycled meta conspiracy is what I'll be talking about today. But first I want to talk about the format of the show because it might be a bit confusing for folks. Despite this show's name my primary purpose here is not to debunk anything. My primary purpose is to entertain you. Debunking is only a secondary objective. You might be wondering why I would do this. And I'm sure I'll receive criticism for this. Actually, I'm sure I'll receive lots and lots of criticism about every aspect of this show. But, I'm doing it this way based on the advice of a certain magical nanny and because people don't like boring stuff. If I really want to help fight this epidemic of foolishness, I first need to get people to listen to me. It doesn’t really help our situation if I make a dozen dry and dull episodes that nobody listens to. If I want to reach people, if I want to change minds, if I want to inoculate them from this kind of thinking; I'm gonna need a little pizzaz and spectacle. I need to entertain people. As Mary Poppins says, "A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down". So, the normal format of this show will be pretty much the following. Episodes will be split in two parts. The first part of the episode will be me explaining a conspiracy theory, as best I can, from the perspective of the true believer. I'll be saying lots of strange things that I don't actually believe. I'm doing this because it will be more entertaining and ultimately more listenable. As I said I'll be doing this as best I can. One of the problems we encounter when talking about conspiracy theories is that almost always there is no single authoritative version of the theory. While we may talk about this conspiracy theory and that conspiracy theory, in reality each one contains many many variations within it. That’s one of the things that makes these theories so resilient. Even if you could definitively debunk a particular theory, true believers would just adopt a slightly different version. This problem becomes even worse when you observe how conspiracy theories cross pollinate and evolve. So again, I'll be doing my best to explain these theories. But, it's going to be tough and I'll probably explain it in ways that you don't like. Just try to remember that I am not attempting to tell you the authoritative end all be all version of any conspiracy theory. I'm presenting a version that I want to tell. A version that I think is entertaining and representative of what I've seen in the wild. The second part is where I'll be doing the actual debunking. Although, I've got to be honest. When writing these scripts, this has proven to be difficult. The difficulty hasn't been in refuting the logic and evidence of these conspiracy theories. The difficulty is in the persistent lack of logic in these theories. Wild and unsubstantiated leaps of logic are a signature motif of conspiracy theories. And the evidence used to justify these theories usually isn't actually evidence at all. At its best, it is just circumstantial evidence that on its own proves absolutely nothing. At its worst, it is unverifiable secret evidence that only the conspiracy theorist has access to. But I'll do my best and hopefully you'll like it. So enough with this rambling preamble and let's start talking about this episode's conspiracy. On this episode, I'll be talking about a conspiracy theory that does not exist yet but one that inevitably will come into existence. And that theory is that this podcast and its host are part of "The Conspiracy". Conspiracy Theories Debunked with Jason Rigden is not what it seems. Jason Rigden is actually a secret agent of the conspiracy. He might even be an alien himself. He probably is good friends with Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. He definitely is on George Soros's payroll. He is secretly a communist that hates America and Apple Pie. Many researchers have speculated that he doesn't even exist at all. That he is an artificial composite personality created on a Quantum Computer network controlled by the shapeshifting reptilians of Zeta Reticulum. He claims his show debunks conspiracy theories but how can he do that when he himself is an agent of the conspiracy? No, this show is disinformation. This show is meant to discredit and slander independent researchers across the world who are just looking for the truth. Why is Jason so afraid of the truth? What does this supposed podcaster have to fear? What does the cabal have on him? My fellow truth seekers, I urge you not to listen to his lies. Don't let your children or your parents listen and for god's sake don't let your wife listen to him. His forked tongue will just confuse them. Only the most gullible sheeple listen to this podcast. No true god-fearing American man would ever listen to it or allow it to be listen to in his home. Just look at all of his factual mistakes regarding the physiology of sasquatch. And we don’t even have time to start talking about all the mistakes in the Chupacabra episode. The only reason anyone listens to his show is because the globalist elite that control Twitter, Facebook, and Friendster are relentlessly pushing his content through the algorithm. Why would they do this if he were not one of their agents? His podcast is filled with subliminal messages designed to turn you into an America hating transgender frog/human hybrid. I've seen the photos online of what happens to his listeners. You can't argue with photographic proof. My sources in the FBI say he is about to be arrested for numerous unspeakable crimes. Multiple anonymous witnesses have called into late night radio talk shows to give testimony regarding his out of control adrenochrome and bananadine addictions. Furthermore, on multiple occasions he has openly admitted to habitually smoking marijuana cigarettes. He is obviously a dangerous drug fiend. How can we doubt that the globalists have used these drug addictions to manipulate him into being their agent? Knowing that, how can we trust anything he says? The most damming thing of all is that he refuses to denounce the conspiracy. So that is the basics regarding the conspiracy theory that this show and I are part of a conspiracy. It is part strawman and part joke but ultimately, I'm sure people will make vaguely similar attacks against me. After a quick break, I'll kinda debunk this whole thing. If you are listening to this, then my new show Conspiracy Theories Debunked with Jason Rigden has launched. And if you are enjoying these episodes, would you please consider telling a friend about the show or maybe sharing the podcast on social media. I'm just an average guy, I don’t have cash to buy advertising and I'm not a celebrity, so I need your help. I need my listeners to share Conspiracy Theories Debunked with as many people as possible. And if you don't like the show. Like if you really really hate it, please take your complaints to the internet. Go on to Facebook, Twitter, or Tik Tok or Parlor or whatever right now and tell the whole world how terrible this show is. Make sure to link to the show so that others can listen and agree with you that this show is terrible. So, whether or not you like this podcast, all that matters to me is that you talk about it. Tell everyone you know and tell them every day to listen to Conspiracy Theories Debunked with Jason Rigden. Available now on all podcast clients and YouTube. So here is the debunking part. First of all nobody pays me to do this show. Although they could. I've got a Patreon page linked in the show notes and a paypal link for one time gifts. Also, I am looking for advertisers. You can have a 30-60 second pre or mid roll ad for as little as $100 or whatever the best offer is. If the folks from Me undies or Casper or square space are listening, please give me money. I'm also totally willing to get into the supplements grift. If you are looking for someone to hawk your Horney goat weed or bath salts, I'm available super cheap. As for my alleged association with Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, they are both very dead. I've never met George Soros but I'd like to. What I'd like more is for him to finally pay me. People have been claiming that me and my friends have been on his payroll for over a decade and none of us have seen a dime yet. I'm starting to think none of us are ever getting our checks. I'm not a democrat, a socialist, a communist, or an anarchist. I'm definitely not a republican. I'm an independent. I am not a secret anything. My political opinions are very very open. Just check my twitter feed or better yet just ask me what I think. I'll either tell you my opinion or I'll tell you that I don't know enough to have an opinion. I'm not an alien or a computer simulation as far as I know. I don't belong to the Freemasons, Shriners, Illuminati, or the global cabal but I would be interested in joining if the yearly dues aren't too much. As a side note just in case the global elite are listening, I'd love to attend the Bohemian Grove, Bilderberg Group, or Davos. I do smoke weed though. That part is true.

This is the podcast they don’t want you to hear. They don't want you to know the truth. They want you to be scared and ignorant. They want to turn you against your friends, family, and neighbors. They want to isolate you and will tell you that they are the only ones you can trust. They have attained the highest levels of power in politics and the media. They threaten our very existence on this planet. They don't care about you and they certainly don't want you to listen to this podcast. I know I sound crazy but just give me a chance. You are probably wondering who this mysterious "they" is. Well, it's the racists, grifters, scammers, quacks, charlatans, and the true believers. They are the conspiracy theorists. They don't want you to listen because I'm exposing them. They want to be able to spread their disinformation, misinformation, and propaganda without being challenged. They want to continue to profit from tricking the gullible with spectacle and doublespeak. Conspiracy theories are nothing new, but the internet has allowed them to spread and multiply like never before. Rumors and lies spread like wildfire on social media. Blogs, YouTube and podcasts allow anyone to communicate with an audience directly without any oversight. True believers, governments, political parties, and grifters have seen this as an opportunity to accomplish their goals. On each episode of Conspiracy Theories Debunked, I'll explain a conspiracy theory as best I can. Then I'll debunk it. Although usually they just kind of debunk themselves. I'll also occasionally include stories about cryptids, the paranormal, scams, cons, and maybe even a few conspiracy theories that are actually true. It's kind of like unsolved mysteries but without the mystery. If this sounds interesting to you, please subscribe now to Conspiracy Theories Debunked with Jason Rigden now!
