Descripción

Welcome to the Dads Who Mosh Podcast! This week, Jesse and Nate debate whether In and Out is actually good, Jesse talks cruises, and they talk about taking your kids to hardcore shows - is it a good thing to do, and if so, what are the rules of engagement with kids there? Also, the guys reveal another layer of their inner souls and reveal their guilty pleasure bands that they've been too afraid to admit up until this point and it does not go as Nate planned... The dads also go over the idea of how to deal with the stress of life in healthy ways, versus unhealthy ways. Unhealthy ways of dealing with stress often involved quick "fixes" that are never actually permanent fixes, but they make you feel better momentarily, only to leave you feeling the same, if not worse once it wears off. Longevity is the name of the game when it comes to mental health. Pain sucks, but it's not always a bad thing in and of itself, and if we can embrace it and power through it, we'll be better off in the long run. Episode 24 - The Broken Nose

Welcome to the Dads Who Mosh Podcast! This week, Nate shares his story about how his nose was broken during a Missing Link set and Jesse admits that he didn't put enough sunscreen on his kids. The dads talk about the issue of "gatekeeping" and what it's like to have so many newcomers to the hardcore scene. While there is always a place for people in the scene, it's worth it to educate yourself and learn about what makes the hardcore scene so special and fight to preserve that, no matter how big it gets. In Dad World, the guys talk about how they budget for shows so that they don't send their family into poverty over band merch. They also talk about the benefits of having a wife who lets you be your weird self. Episode 22 - From Basement to the Big Stage: What the Future of Hardcore Festivals Looks Like

Welcome to the Dads Who Mosh Podcast! This week, the dads talk about the Terror show in Pomona at the Glasshouse and the conflict between security and the fans and the struggle that comes with venues who, in the words of Scott Vogel, want the money from hardcore, without being hardcore. They also discuss the lineup announcement from Furnace Fest and how the future of the festival was finally revealed. While whoever bought Furnace Fest out obviously has deep pockets and is able to bring in the biggest names in heavy music, the fear for those who cherish the spirit of Furnace Fest is that the heart of the festival is now gone. While mental health is a major focus of this podcast, physical health is a big deal too, so Nate and Jesse share their tips on preventing a week of soreness from one night in a mosh pit. This week's segments: Bands you should know: Nate: The Fight is Now (@thefightisnow) Jesse: Piss Ant (@pissant_hxc) Hardcore News: - Furnace Fest drops 2026 lineup and it is received with mixed reviews. Episode 20 - Raising "Hardcore" Kids in a Gentle-Parenting World

Welcome to the Dads Who Mosh Podcast! This week, the dads are joined by James, another dad who moshes. Jesse gave in and bought a ticket for A Day To Remember's Big Ol Boat Tour and Nate really thinks that this could be the Raiders' year. The dads talk about how "hardcore " shows really are when they cost $50 a ticket. With the growth of the scene, hardcore bands are getting bigger and bigger, plus massive ticketing companies, it's getting further and further from the days of $5 shows in a dingy venue. Later, the guys talk about how to raise tough kids without just being a "tough" dad. How do we effectively show our kids that sometimes life gets hard, and resist the urge to just keep them from having to go through anything hard? How can we show them that life can be hard, but make sure they know that we'll be there for them, no matter what they're going through?
