Unlike most of the western world, voting is mandatory in many democracies. Countries like Australia, and several countries in South America, Africa and Asia have a compulsory voting system, where citizens will be fined if they don't participate in elections. In this episode, we discuss whether compulsory voting is a good policy for more democracies to adopt, or if it unnecessarily infringes on the rights and freedoms of the citizens of these countries.

Universal Basic Income, For or Against?! (Episode 1)

In this episode, we have a full on universal basic income debate where we discuss whether UBI is a good policy to implement or not. Universal Basic Income is a social welfare proposal in which all citizens of a given population regularly receive a guaranteed income in the form of an unconditional payment. The most famous proposal of this policy was by presidential nominee Andrew Yang in the 2020 democratic primary elections.
