🎙️ We Are Barabbas Three men. One cross. Three responses to Jesus. In this solo episode, Summer walks through the powerful contrast between Barabbas, Judas, and Simon of Cyrene — the guilty man set free, the disciple who betrayed, and the stranger who carried the cross. Barabbas was a criminal. A murderer. An insurrectionist. Rome had already written his death sentence. Yet the crowd chose to release him — and Jesus took his place. Judas walked closely with Jesus, witnessed miracles, and still chose silver over surrender. His story ended in despair, not because mercy wasn’t available, but because he refused to return to it. Simon of Cyrene was pulled from the crowd and forced to carry Jesus’ cross. What began as an inconvenience became a moment that changed his family’s legacy. His sons are later named in Scripture, hinting at generational faithfulness. But here’s the tension: We don’t know how Barabbas’ story ends. And maybe that’s the point. In prayer, the Holy Spirit revealed something striking — if Scripture told us the ending of Barabbas’ life, it would reveal the fate of every sinner. But the story is left open… because ours is too. We are Barabbas. We are the guilty ones set free. The question is what we choose next. Will we drift into betrayal? Will we surrender and serve? Or will we walk away unchanged? This episode invites you to wrestle with the weight of the exchange that happened at the cross — and to consider what your response will be to the freedom you’ve been given.
