Discernment Digest
In this episode of Discernment Digest, we navigate several major developments shaping both the nation and the church. Beginning with current events in Washington, we consider the biblical tension between liberty and order, reflect on immigration, pro-life victories and ongoing challenges, presidential power, judicial decisions, and cultural pressures surrounding sexuality and identity. We also discuss why Christians should remain engaged rather than withdrawing from public life, even amid political frustration and rapid change. Finally, we turn our attention to the annual meetings of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Presbyterian Church in America, examining questions of cooperation, doctrinal priorities, church governance, and why local church autonomy remains an important Baptist distinctive. Along the way, we explore the relationship between primary and secondary doctrines and consider how believers can pursue both conviction and cooperation for the sake of the gospel. Join us as we seek to think biblically, discern carefully, and serve faithfully in an increasingly complex world.
