Episode 30 - Excuse To Do or Excuse Not To
Some people look for an exuse to do something, and others an excuse not to. Had a guy at the gym I was using while traveling peek his head in and muse, "just as I suspected, pretty poor." He had no intention of working out, and now in his mind had a pretty good reason not to. This got me thinking of times in my life I've used the same logic, and probably gotten similar results as the man who peeked his head into the gym. Are you someone looking for any possible way to get something important done, or any excuse to let yourself off the hook?
Episode 29 - Avoid the Third Reward
"When you have done a good deed that another has had the benefit of, why do you need a third reward-as fools do-praise for having done well or looking for a favor in return." -Marcus Aurelius This episode I go into why what you do matters, and how doing something good is easily nullified by seeking something in return.
Episode 28 - Cold Shower Science
I explore an article on the benefits of cold showers from a scientific study of over 3,000 people. I've been doing cold showers as popularized by Wim Hof for almost 2 years and have never felt better. CHeck out the article below on the benefits. Episode 26 - The Hero Mentality
This episode I explore the only 2 categories of things in your life: things you can control, and things you can't. How to avoid being distracted and how to replace a victim mentality with a hero mentality.
