DJ Burn is probably one of the most adaptable DJs available in Nairobi, Kenya who has a passion and obsession for various types of music and genres. Born and raised in Nairobi, he started his DJ’ing career at the age of 16 years playing as a “bed-room” DJ - Spinning vinyls and making mix-tapes for fun. He is one of the few remaining DJ’s that experienced the Vinyl/CD/Serato revolution throughout all its stages as it progressed in Kenya. He is innovative, his style is unique and can be classified as primarily commercial featuring – Dance music, hip-hop and R&B that he stylishly combines with New-school/old school breaks and regional/local club anthems. Dj Burn has played sets with the majority of top Kenyan DJ’s at events such as The Smirnoff Sepetuka music festival and at concerts featuring Salif Keita, Sean Paul, Morgan Heritage and Beenie Man i.e. just to name a few. In December 2009, Homeboyz Radio offered him the opportunity to co host a live DJ request show – “The Fixx”. The show features the latest & very best of urban music. He now hosts an additional mid morning show dubbed “Fresh Air” that features brand new urban tracks every Wednesday from 10h00 to 11h00. “DJ Burn is uplifting and sensual behind the decks and seems to never run out of energy, proving once again that he has a rightful place behind the decks in an industry that has been dominated by Guru DJs.
