The Republican Party is still reeling fom election losses in 2020 and their point man, aka rock star, Donald Trump, is unlikely to win another national election. In an effort to affect the outcome of future elections, the GOP through their control of state legislatures, by gerry-mandering, is enacting voter suppression legislation similar to Jim Crow laws.

Romans 8:28, says all things work together for our good. Comforting words in times of trial, when nothing seems to be working, when the thing you need the most, is not happening, but your are still alive and breathing. Somehow. Our comfort and assurance comes from this Scripture.

White Supremacist Politics Are (Clearly) Failing Texas Residents

Texas is still recovering from the snowstorm that caused the state’s power grid to collapse and left millions without electricity during freezing weather. For days, millions of Texans lived without power, sufficient warmth, accessible roads or empathy from certain elected officials. While millions of residents starved, froze, and went hungry, their elected officials flew to Cancun and Florida to soak up some sun. With one of the hallmark tenets of Republicanism being "pull yourself up by your boot straps," it is no wonder that politicians--White, wealthy, male politicians--left their constituents to fend for themselves. Is this "every man for himself" era of politicking truly working for the American people?
