The Hidden Hormone Imbalance Affecting Millions of Women

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Jen Pfleghaar to unpack why so many women are told their labs are "normal" while they still feel awful. We dive into the gaps in conventional hormone testing, the importance of timing and deeper lab analysis, and how root cause medicine can uncover what's really driving symptoms like fatigue, mood changes, and cycle issues. - - - - - About the Guest: Dr. Jen Pfleghaar is a double board-certified physician in Emergency and Integrative Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed residency at St. Vincent's Mercy Hospital, and fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. She believes true wellness thrives when body, mind, and spirit are aligned with God's design. Diagnosed with Hashimoto's, she became passionate about autoimmune healing, hormone balance, and root-cause medicine. Dr. Jen co-authored Eat. Sleep. Move. Breathe., serves on the boards of the Invisible Disabilities Association and American Board of Integrative Medicine. Through her practice, Healthy by Dr. Jen, she provides virtual care and shares education as @integrativedrmom. She lives on a mini farm in Tennessee with her husband and four children. She loves cheering at her kids' games, lifting weights, reading Scripture, and tending to her chickens. Her book, The Perimenopause Reset, was written on a mission to change the health of 500,000 women navigating perimenopause—empowering them with faith-based, science-backed strategies to reclaim their energy, clarity, and joy. - - - - - Connect wit Dr. Jen Pfleghaar Website: https://www.healthybydrjen.com/ [https://www.healthybydrjen.com/] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/integrativedrmom [https://www.facebook.com/integrativedrmom] Instagram: https://www.linkedin.com/in/drjenpfleghaar [https://www.linkedin.com/in/drjenpfleghaar] YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@integrativedrmom [https://www.youtube.com/@integrativedrmom] Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3noyG8FGUirxkmpBpyAm2O?si=9356b5a279af4661 [https://open.spotify.com/show/3noyG8FGUirxkmpBpyAm2O?si=9356b5a279af4661] Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/ph/podcast/the-integrative-health-podcast-with-dr-jen/id1541507452 [https://podcasts.apple.com/ph/podcast/the-integrative-health-podcast-with-dr-jen/id1541507452] - - - - - Connect with Dr. Jess Peatross Website: https://wellnessplus.com/ [https://wellnessplus.com/]  Instagram: ⁦https://www.instagram.com/dr.jess.md [https://www.instagram.com/dr.jess.md]  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wplusbydrjess/ [https://www.facebook.com/wplusbydrjess/] - - - - - PODCAST Thank you for listening. Why Your Body Isn't Healing—And What Your Brain Might Have to Do With It

In this episode, I sit down with Ashok Gupta to explore why so many people with chronic illness are told they're "fine" when they clearly aren't. We break down how the nervous system and immune system can get stuck in survival mode, driving symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, and reactivity. We also talk about neuroplasticity and how retraining the brain may be the missing piece in healing. - - - - - About the Guest: Ashok Gupta is an internationally renowned Speaker, Filmmaker & Health Practitioner who has dedicated his life to supporting people through chronic illness, and achieving their potential. Ashok suffered from ME, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, around 25 years ago when he was studying at Cambridge University. Through neurological research that he conducted, he managed to get himself 100% better. He then set up a clinic to treat others and published the well-known recovery program known as the Gupta Program in 2007. It now has 5 independent randomized controlled trials demonstrating its efficacy for ME/CFS, Long Covid, Fibromyalgia, Mold illness, Lyme, and many more. He has published several medical papers and is continually researching these conditions.
