Descripción

In this episode, we discuss a little bit about what grief is and its process. We talk through the five stages of grief, and tasks of mourning. There's also a great grief fact sheet that I share with you all. Finally, at the end, I share my experience the day I lost my father, and a poem that I wrote about it. Grief is hard, and it has an impact on every single one of us. Hopefully, by listening to this episode, you feel a little less alone, less weird, or like you're broken... never to be healed again. There are better days on the horizon, friends. I know this because I have experienced this for myself. I hope you enjoy this episode, that you'll play it for a loved one or share with friends, so that we can all talk about these important things and destigmatize them. As always, you can find my podcast on the Anchor app, Spotify, and Apple podcasts. If you have a poem you'd like me to share to my audience, a story of your own that you want me to share because you can relate to something I've talked about, a topic suggestion, or a personal question, please e-mail me at dynamicdoseshow@gmail.com. episode Boundaries, Boundaries, Boundaries artwork

Boundaries, Boundaries, Boundaries

I'll give you ONE guess as to what today's podcast is about. :)  BOUNDARIES! Now, since it's such an in depth topic, it probably won't be the last time I talk about boundaries on my podcast so expect more to come. Today's information kind of just skimmed the surface; in explaining what a boundary is and why healthy ones are important, what some boundaries kind of look like in relationships (the romantic kind), and about protecting personal boundaries, using descriptions and mental imagery. At the end, I also give a (very) personal example of a boundary I've set in my life. Thanks for another week of listening! Please follow me on social media: facebook, twitter and insta under @dynamicdoseshow... and please share my podcast on your social media! I want to reach people who need to hear podcasts like these and that are looking to better understand mental health and how it can be applied to their life. All my episodes are available on the Anchor App, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. See you next week! xo Alyson B.

episode The Box, Cognitive Distortions & Activity artwork

The Box, Cognitive Distortions & Activity

On today's episode, we talk about "the box" that we put all of our fears, anxieties, traumas, etc. into for safe keeping. We also want to make sure that it is secured with a lot and ONLY YOU can open it, when the time is appropriate. We also discuss some common cognitive distortions and how we can challenge those a little bit. Towards the end, I read a prompt called "Dear Society" and asked that you'd answer some thought challenging questions in your notebooks/journals. PLEASE, if you don't have a journal or notebook for notes, get one. This is how we grow - through writing, connection, and education. We are a family here at Dynamic Dose Show, for those who'd like to participate. Follow us on all the social medias! I even think that we are on Apple podcasts now (I have to check). Also, our email dynamicdoseshow@gmail.com is always open for anything you need. Just make sure to title it "Podcast". Much love everyone! See you next week!
