Ears Have Eyes
ALGORYTHMIC: computational acoustics & virtual soundscapes This month, we’re exploring the theme ALGORYTHMIC: computational acoustics & virtual soundscapes. Algorithms are increasingly shaping our world, sculpting it to our individual tastes and interests in a self-perpetuating cycle of selective reinforcement. At best, these algorithms guide us towards information that is relevant to us, at worst, they create blind confirmation bias, shading us from “truths” that don’t match our own world-view. Regardless, a rhythm forms in the way we receive algorithmic information – a compressing and elongating of digital content. Our June episode asks, what if this rhythm was a sound? Thus, “algo - rythmic.” ARTISTS: Daria Baiocchi Hugo Paquete Hui Kim Owen Duff Rosario Di Rosa Stefanie Wasserman Zak Colello This program is co-hosted by Caitlind r.c.
