Planning for Dementia [037]

Join Caroline and Brad Wenzel for a discussion on making a robust plan for caring for a parent with dementia. Brad shares with us the why, what, and how of planning for the future when dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s.   Brad Wenzel is the founder and CEO of My Aging Parent Plan, a multidisciplinary support program helping families confront Alzheimer’s and dementia by planning and strategizing for their loved one’s future. Better known as “Care Coach” among his clients, he's been a physical therapist working exclusively with seniors and their families for nearly 20 years. As a son to a father with dementia himself, Brad has been able to not only help other families on their journey with Alzheimer’s or dementia, but his own as well.   Resources Mentioned: Book: The One Thing [https://bookshop.org/p/books/the-one-thing-the-surprisingly-simple-truth-about-extraordinary-results-gary-keller/266003?ean=9781885167774] by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan Ep 23: Medication Safety and Deprescribing with Dr. DeLon Canterbury [https://carolinemorris.com/medication-safety-deprescribing-with-delon-canterbury-023/]   Related Episodes: Ep 1: Memory and Communication Across the Lifespan with Alicia White [https://carolinemorris.com/podcast-001/] Ep 2: Dignity in Dementia Care with Anne Stankewiecz [https://carolinemorris.com/podcast-002/] Ep 5: Clear, Calm, Agile in Your Season of Life with Perry Brubaker  [https://carolinemorris.com/podcast-005/] Ep 12: Advocating for What Matters with Sandra Eskew Capps [https://carolinemorris.com/advocating-for-what-matters-with-sandra-eskew-capps-012/] Ep 21: My Top Tips for Navigating Healthcare [https://carolinemorris.com/my-top-tips-for-navigating-healthcare-021/] Ep 22: Communication and Care Partners with Abbe Simon [https://carolinemorris.com/communication-care-partners-with-abbe-simon-022/] Ep 23: Medication Safety and Deprescribing with Dr. DeLon Canterbury [https://carolinemorris.com/medication-safety-deprescribing-with-delon-canterbury-023/] Ep 25: Financial Health as We Age with Jason Hamilton [https://carolinemorris.com/financial-health-as-we-age-with-jason-hamilton-025/] Ep 28: Integrative Brain Health with Dr. Andrew Wong [https://carolinemorris.com/integrative-brain-health-with-dr-andrew-wong-028/] Ep 30: Home Care with Bella Desai and Latasha Williams  [https://carolinemorris.com/home-care-with-bella-desai-latasha-williams-030/] Ep 34: Aging Nervous System [https://carolinemorris.com/aging-nervous-system-034/] Connect with Brad: https://www.myagingparentplan.com/ [https://www.myagingparentplan.com/]   Connect with Caroline:  Work with me [https://morrisclinicpt.janeapp.com/#staff_member/1]  https://carolinemorris.com [https://carolinemorris.com/]
