Descripción

In this episode, I reflect on my time dancing for Michael Jackson—a dream I never could have imagined, and the heartbreak that followed. What stayed with me most wasn’t just the opportunity, but the energy in the room: support, joy, and generosity, even in a space where competition could have taken over. It was a reflection of who Michael was and how he led. I share one of my favorite memories—a fleeting moment during “Human Nature” that felt like time stood still, and taught me something I’ll never forget: we all have the power to make someone feel seen. At its core, this episode is about presence. About how quickly life can change, and why being fully in it matters more than we think. Wherever you are on your journey, this is your reminder to be here for it. Thank you so much for being here! If you are enjoying the show, it would mean so much if you please follow Essence Embodied, share it with someone who needs it, and leave a rating and review! Thank you! episode Healing Through Dance After Injury And Loss- With Jaimie Goodwin artwork

Healing Through Dance After Injury And Loss- With Jaimie Goodwin

In this episode, I’m joined by Jaimie Goodwin — professional dancer, mentor, movement coach, and So You Think You Can Dance alum — for a conversation about dance, mindset, injury recovery, authenticity, teaching and navigating the realities of a creative life. Jaimie shares her journey from competitive dance to major opportunities in the entertainment industry, including the audition story that changed everything simply because she chose to show up. We talk about perfectionism, comparison, flow state, performance anxiety, and the inner dialogue that can either support dancers or hold them back. She also opens up about multiple ACL tears, grief, recovery, and the mindset shifts that helped her reconnect to her body, purpose, and presence. We discuss working with dancers, injury prevention, cross-training, and why doing the “opposite” of what dance demands can help restore balance and longevity. We also dive into motherhood, mentorship, rebuilding during transitional seasons of life, and the reminder that the present moment is shaping the future we’re creating. If you’re a dance teacher, dancer, performer, creative, or anyone learning to trust themselves more deeply, this episode will leave you feeling grounded, encouraged, and inspired to keep showing up. episode I Turned Down Broadway To Manifest Motherhood artwork

I Turned Down Broadway To Manifest Motherhood

A Broadway contract. A dream opportunity. And a quiet inner knowing that said… not now. In this episode of Essence Embodied by Tyne Stecklein, I share one of the most personal decisions of my career: turning down a role in The Cher Show on Broadway and choosing a completely different dream instead — motherhood. After dancing for Cher at Caesars Palace, on tour, and even in Burlesque, I got the chance to audition for The Cher Show on Broadway. I made every cut as a dancer, singer, and actor, and was ultimately offered the job. It was flattering, exciting, and also deeply unsettling, because beneath the excitement I realized the dream I’d been chasing might not be the one I wanted most anymore. In this episode, I walk through the exact process I used to find clarity: getting quiet, listening to my intuition, testing the doubt, visualizing what I truly wanted, and taking aligned action even if it surprised everyone around me. If you’re navigating a big life decision, questioning a dream you’ve outgrown, or learning to trust yourself more deeply, this episode is for you. Thank you so much for being here! episode How To Chase Your Dreams Without Waiting For Permission artwork

How To Chase Your Dreams Without Waiting For Permission

In this episode, we talk about giving yourself permission to pursue your dreams, trust your ideas, and stop waiting for external validation to begin. Your voice has value, your movement has value, and your story matters. I open up about the fears creatives face: rejection, self-doubt, comparison, and the inner voice asking, “Who do you think you are?” I share how I learned to move that voice aside, follow where the energy flows, trust my intuition, and keep showing up for the goals and creative passions that won’t leave me alone. Sometimes the dreams that keep returning to us aren’t random — they may be pointing us toward our purpose. If you’re a dancer, actor, artist, entrepreneur, creator, or anyone navigating fear while chasing a big dream, this episode will remind you to trust yourself, own your authenticity, and take the next step forward. Acting, Motherhood, And Trusting Life's Timing - With Mekia Cox

In this episode, I sit down with actress and friend Mekia Cox to talk about building a career in the entertainment industry—and navigating the highs, lows, and many emotions of a creative life. Mekia and I met backup dancing for Michael Jackson, and she has since gone on to have an incredible career!  We discuss her character Nyla Harper on The Rookie, and talk about the audition process as well as on set experiences. Mekia shares her stories of trusting that the right roles will find their way to you. We also talk about motherhood, balance, and the practical tools she uses to reset and keep moving forward. If you’re an actor, dancer, or creative navigating auditions, casting, and consistency, this conversation will leave you feeling steadier, clearer, and inspired.  Keep up with Mekia on IG here: https://www.instagram.com/mekiacox/ [https://www.instagram.com/mekiacox/] Thank you so much for being here!
