Fave Five Podcast 24 - Joan Garfield

Joan loves traveling, cooking, reading, hiking, running, swimming, yoga, and spending time with her friends and family in Minneapolis. We share a love of books, food, music, humor, statistics, writing, walking, travel, socializing, and grandchildren. Joan had a huge influence on my musical taste and often recommends good books to read. We are fortunate to be able to spend time together each summer at The Homestead Resort on Lake Michigan in Glen Arbor, Michigan. In 2001 Joan was recognized as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. She was first elected a Member of the International Statistical Institute in 2002. In 2005 the American Statistical Association gave her their Founder’s Award for distinguished service to the association. The Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education gave her their lifetime achievement award in 2007.
