Filminism Episode 107 – Wizard of Oz

After a brief week hiatus, the Filminism podcast is back with a new episode all about the cultural cornerstone Wizard of Oz.  This 1939 film features pretty much zero diversity but represents with some strong female characters from a time in history where feminism was theoretically “dead.”  Listen to Sarah & Eric discuss the cultural significance, social impact, and Hollywood abuse behind the scenes.  Music by Matt Burruel. Barbara Ann Myers, ABOC, is the owner and optician for F.R.A.M.E.D. She is a fourth generation Washington, DC-based lifelong redskins fan.  Her career as an optician started accidentally in 1986 at Sears.  She remained in the optical field for nearly 30 years before starting her own business.  F.R.A.M.E.D. is friendly, reliable, affordable mobile eyewear delivered.  Barbara enjoys giving back to the world and has gone with the Lion’s Club on three mission trips to Panama to run a vision clinic and dispense eyeglasses.  She currently lives in Hagerstown, MD with her husband John and she has four step-children and three grandchildren.
