High control and manipulation: Members may be subjected to psychological manipulation, isolation from outside contacts (including family), and high-pressure recruitment. Total commitment: Demands a comprehensive and often total commitment from its followers, sometimes requiring them to cut ties with their former life, work for little to no pay, and give large sums of money. This is the only religion in which people are saved by grace alone (Ephesians 2:8); every other religion is about people trying to reach Salvation and heaven on their own. To be saved, one must repent from their sin (Acts 3:19), which involves a commitment to turn away from sin and their own life and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior over every area of their life, and have the Holy Spirit fill them (John 3:3) and make them a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17)
