Descripción

Elle's joined by Andrea, aka Caz, to chat about the art of curating an album, managing the band Joan Smith & the Jane Does and hopping on the Sabrina Carpenter bandwagon. Caz is introduced to the 'warmly weird and off-kilter charm' of fellow countryman, Mac Demarco when Elle gives a rundown of his album 'Rock and Roll Nightclub', and explains why Fred Again's music is time travel for her. However, perhaps most importantly, we all learn a lesson in what it's like to tour the Canadian wilderness with a children's music duo.

Backstage at the Brits, Painless by Nilüfer Yanya and mystery makes the music. With photographer Jamie Waters

Elle's joined by life-long friend, music photographer and all-round creative, Jamie to reminisce on the music they listened to as kids, chat heartbreak and throwing yourself into work while touching on how much Jamie hates puzzles. Elle runs through the unknowable clarity of Painless by Nilüfer Yanya and how it resonates for reasons unknown and they celebrate music that sounds like a stream of consciousness with a little detour discussing Jamie's next tattoo. Flying into an active volcano in a squirrel suit, recording backstage at the Brits with Ed Sheeran and Bring Me the Horizon plus the wonder of Shaun the Sheep also get airtime. So, you know, just the usual.

Music as therapy, MØ’s No Mythologies to Follow and David Beckham’s glasses. With guitarist Cam May

In this episode, Cam raves about Mk.gee's trailblazing guitar, Elle shouts out Antony Szmierek's signature sound and they both think about the relativity of being 'in tune'. Plus, Elle unpicks the Electro-Alternative Scandi pop of MØ's 'No Mythologies to Follow', as they reflect on playing songs to death and processing feelings through music. Cam shares what it's like to have your guitar hero play something you've written and all the cool places he's performed with Aziyah, including supporting Florence & the Machine at the O2. Justin Bieber, Michael Bolton and David Beckham also get a lot of air time (yes, you read that right). https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7xzfVq3qzj21pj2lYSyaTF?si=a6693f6fd46d49f3 Follow For the Record on https://www.instagram.com/for_the_record_pod?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw== Music by https://www.instagram.com/camjmay?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==
