Descripción

In Episode 15 of Forged for Greatness, I sit down with Lucia, co-owner of Artim Studio in East Hanover, New Jersey, to talk about her family’s journey escaping communism in the early 90s and starting over in America with nothing in their pockets. Lucia opens up about the emotional challenges of being separated from family members during childhood, adapting to a completely new life in the United States, and watching her parents work tirelessly to create opportunities for their family. What started as a passion for hairstyling eventually led Lucia across the world to Prague, where she expanded her education and sharpened her skills in hair coloring and styling before bringing that knowledge back to the States. After years working at Bangz Salon in Montclair, Lucia and her mother took a leap of faith and opened Artim Studio — an intimate salon built around creativity, connection, and truly caring for their clients. This episode is about resilience, sacrifice, family, and chasing opportunity even when life starts at zero. Greatness isn’t given. It is forged.

Episode 18: The Mindset Game: How I Went From Undisciplined to Winning More Days Than I Lose

Four or five years ago, I was a completely different person. I hit the snooze button. I ate junk food regularly. I drank more alcohol than I should have. I lacked discipline, consistency, and structure. Looking back, I call that version of myself the “shitty version” of Chris La Forgia. Then something changed. While working out at the gym a couple of years ago, I found myself thinking back to my soccer career and the mindset I had as a competitor. I hated losing. I loved winning. Every game had a scoreboard. That’s when a simple question popped into my head: What if I treated life the same way? What if my habits became the scoreboard? In this solo episode, I break down the concept I call The Mindset Game—a system that divides your day into four quarters and helps you track wins, losses, and the habits that move you closer to the person you’re trying to become. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about closing the gap between who you are today and who you have the potential to become. In this episode, you’ll learn: • How the Mindset Game was created • The four quarters of the day • Why your habits become your scoreboard • How to stack wins and limit losses • How to measure personal growth like an athlete measures performance • Why consistency beats perfection every single time If you’ve ever felt stuck, undisciplined, or frustrated by your lack of progress, this episode may give you a completely different way to approach your life. Greatness isn’t given. It is forged.

Episode 17: From Hustle to Harmony: Redefining Success with Jesus Mendez

Success used to mean one thing for Jesus Mendez: work. As the owner of two restaurants in Denville, New Jersey, Jesus grew up watching his mother build and operate multiple restaurants of her own. Her work ethic, resilience, and lessons on business became the foundation for the entrepreneur he is today. In this episode of Forged for Greatness, Jesus shares how his definition of success has evolved over the years. What once revolved around long hours, sacrifice, and relentless hustle has transformed into something much deeper. Today, as a fiancé and father, he believes true success isn’t just about building a thriving business—it’s about creating a life that allows you to be present for the people who matter most. We discuss family, entrepreneurship, leadership, work-life balance, and the lessons passed down from one generation to the next. Because at the end of the day, success isn’t just about making a living—it’s about building a life worth living. #ForgedForGreatness #JesusMendez #Entrepreneurship #RestaurantOwner

Episode 16: They Served This Country. Why Are They Still Homeless? | Eugene of Project VET

Forged for Greatness Episode 16 features a powerful and emotional conversation with Eugene from Project VET — a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness for veteran homelessness and veteran suicide. Eugene and his team partnered with Lavated Productions to produce a documentary centered around a shocking social experiment: Eugene voluntarily lived homeless on the streets of Jersey City for 48 hours to better understand the harsh realities many veterans face every single day. In this episode, Eugene opens up about his deep pride in America, his family bloodline tracing back to Normandy, and how 9/11 became a defining moment in his life — a time when he felt the country was truly united and committed to taking care of its own people. The conversation dives into the heartbreaking reality that so many veterans who sacrificed for this country are now living on the streets, struggling with mental health, or losing their lives to suicide after returning home. This isn’t a political conversation. It’s a human conversation. A conversation about service. A conversation about brotherhood. A conversation about what happens after the uniform comes off. If this episode moves you, please share it. Awareness is the first step toward change. #ForgedForGreatness #ProjectVET #VeteranHomelessness #VeteranSuicideAwareness #Podcast #MentalHealthAwareness #Veterans
