Descripción

Psalms is among the most beloved and often quoted books of the Bible. All psalms were written as songs, and as such, they are meant to be experienced artfully and emotionally. In week one, we’ll discuss WHO wrote the psalms and for whom they were written. We’ll also explore into WHAT ancient literary traditions the psalms fall. We may even have time to learn how psalms can most authentically be sung – no vocal expertise required. In week two, we’ll dig into the different periods in Israel’s history WHEN the psalms were written. In week three, we’ll consider the WHERE and WHY of Psalms: where they were written, where they are meant to be sung, and why they continue to speak to us today. In week four, and scattered throughout the three previous weeks, we’ll review specific psalms and how they contribute to God’s plan for our lives. We’ll review the various types of psalms. In week five, we’ll discuss the Messianic psalms. It’s all intended to be enriching, uplifting, and fun.
